I actually thing the Boks were not bad at all, The French were not great, but that could have been a result of the Boks playing better and their (The Boks) defense was fantastic.

There was a stat that in the 3 tests the Boks had made 350 tackles and the French 130, this showed that the Boks shut them out and dominated defense, preventing the French from scoring, so by that logic i would like to believe that the french were not totally bad.

The Boks could also have been better, i think if Cronje was fit, it would have been a bigger hiding.

But, for now it is 3 wins and a step in the right direction.

Were the Boks that good or the French that bad?

We will see when we play the Aussies.

 Can't believe that stat.

Jan Serfontein's line-out leap

Watching in the UK and I had a nice chuckle when Thinus Delport credited Brendon Venter for this move, I recall the Lions doing this in SR with Faf jumping...

Joost also had a few line-out jumps.

I am not entirely sure on the number given on TV, but it was close to those I mentioned, or not far off

A good summary methinks.

3 tests

I know. If the tackle count was 217-68 for the 2nd test, to my mind it shows our defence was extremely ineffectual.

If you recall there was that stage for about 15 minutes or so after half time where the french attacked. I think there alone was a huge amount of defense takling place.

Then you need to look at the turnover stat :)

Exactly, that and the possession stat. If we had to make 217 tackles it indicates to me that we were poor in effecting turnovers.

if we have to make 217 tackles against the ABs we will lose by 50.

It also shows that this side can sustain long periods of attack...yes this is not NZ, but it is a step in the right direction showing that mentally they keep giving their all. Du Preez made many of those defensive tackles during that phase and was great, but, we needed a true fetcher who will fight for that ball, Perhaps this is where a guy like Cloete can come in. I cannot think of anyone else who turns over ball like he does. Is Kriel known for his fetching?

I also don't believe that Whitely only made 14 tackles over 2 tests given that he was one of the major defenders in that game.

It all depends if he was playing behind Rhule, if so he would have made many more..

Rhule made 24 tackles.
