supersupporter 1,271 Report post Posted June 26, 2017 I actually thing the Boks were not bad at all, The French were not great, but that could have been a result of the Boks playing better and their (The Boks) defense was fantastic.
supersupporter 1,271 Report post Posted June 26, 2017 There was a stat that in the 3 tests the Boks had made 350 tackles and the French 130, this showed that the Boks shut them out and dominated defense, preventing the French from scoring, so by that logic i would like to believe that the french were not totally bad. The Boks could also have been better, i think if Cronje was fit, it would have been a bigger hiding. But, for now it is 3 wins and a step in the right direction.

Joost also had a few line-out jumps.

supersupporter 1,271 Report post Posted June 26, 2017 If you recall there was that stage for about 15 minutes or so after half time where the french attacked. I think there alone was a huge amount of defense takling place.

If we had to make 217 tackles it indicates to me that we were poor in effecting turnovers. if we have to make 217 tackles against the ABs we will lose by 50. It also shows that this side can sustain long periods of attack...yes this is not NZ, but it is a step in the right direction showing that mentally they keep giving their all. Du Preez made many of those defensive tackles during that phase and was great, but, we needed a true fetcher who will fight for that ball, Perhaps this is where a guy like Cloete can come in. I cannot think of anyone else who turns over ball like he does. Is Kriel known for his fetching?
taipan 2,232 Report post Posted June 26, 2017 I also don't believe that Whitely only made 14 tackles over 2 tests given that he was one of the major defenders in that game.
