When last did SA have a man in the singles 1/4 final and a man in the mens' doubles semi-final?

Don’t know about both but the last time we had someone in the men’s singles was Wayne Ferreira 1994.

I was trying to get the doubles fact and can’t find it. I have come across this, though:

Current top five Ito Serve Leaders (ATP):

1. John Isner - USA

2. Ivo Karlovic - CRO

3. Kevin Anderson - RSA

4. Roger Federer- SUI

5. Milos Raonic - CAN

Top 5 Return Leaders. Nadal, Murray, Dzumhur, Schwartzman, Djokovic.

Top 5 Under pressure leaders. Federer, Raonic, Chung, Del Potro and Kyrgios. I was surprised by Kyrgios but there you go.

And this is what I like about individual sports like tennis, golf, etc. What this guy has achieved, has been done by himself. Nobody can accuse him of being a quota player and chances are that you would find that he is probably a humble down to earth guy. None of the typical entitlement BS that you get from some of the rugby players and, of course, other "celebrities" like Trevor Noah.

:bow-down: :clapping-hands:

As we discussed once upon a time - tennis players must be amongst the fittest of sports people...6.5 hrs...wow!! Both deserve a great round of applause, indeed a pity one had to lose...
