The future of rugby

I caught the end of a rugby show last night and they were talking about what is next with rugby.

Jamie Roberts was talking about bringing fans closer to the game with regards to data, this gadget on a players back apparently gives a huge amount of data especially the impact of a collision.

He was talking about the possibility of fans being able to download an APP and then from the side of the ground or wherever be able to view any stat within that game, perhaps running meters, collision impact etc..Very interesting..

I would not really care, i just want to watch the game, but for those curious it makes for some interesting data currently only available to coaches etc..

They need to go back to the longer tours and cut out the meaningless games that we see in Super rugby etc.

I also think that when the pools for the world cup are drawn, there has to be at least 1 games planned prior to the world cup between all of those teams in the pool, That way smaller teams get some exposure outside of world cups, plus they get a chance to meet and play to help the game grow.
