England tour to SA

Recommended Posts

David Boon was so rond soos 'n vaaitjie, kon meer bier sink as ek, maar kon lopies maak.

I saw the same interview. He seemed in good sprints to me. He and KP were pissing themselves laughing.

Good to see they buried the past. We've got Strauss to thank for that...I think.

No, Boucher. According to KP he and Boucher got on well and Bouch said to him that he couldn't understand he didn't get on with Biff as they are basically the same person. It all developed from there.

Just because you are unhappy don't project onto others.

I thing Graeme,  like most other Saffas took exception to KP's speach when he got some kind of ICC award and had some negatives to say about his SA background.

So they have indeed decide to make ab keeper again. Don't agree with it.

Proteas Test squad: Hashim Amla (Cape Cobras, captain), AB de Villiers (Titans, vice-captain), Kyle Abbott (Dolphins), Temba Bavuma (Highveld Lions), JP Duminy (Cape Cobras), Faf du Plessis (Titans), Dean Elgar (Titans), Morne Morkel (Titans), Dane Piedt (Cape Cobras), Kagiso Rabada (Highveld Lions), Rilee Rossouw (Knights), Dale Steyn (Cape Cobras), Stiaan van Zyl (Cape Cobras).

So guess side should be:

1.Elgar

2.Bavuma

3.Amla

4.AB

5.Faf

6.Van Zyl

7.Rossouw ( will be duminy thought)

8.Steyn

9.Abbot

10.Radaba/Piedt

11.Morkel

Yes, we actually need QDK to be the solution. ..but at least Villas is out.

So why is keeping for SA A?

So according to the selectors picking AB as keeper allows us to play an extra specialist batsman. So why pick they pick JP?

Nope.    DE, S vZ, HA, AB, Faf, JP,  ?  , KA, DS, MM, KG.  For me 4 seamers is not negotiable.  No7 is going to depend on how badly a SPECIALIST spinner is needed. Then Piedt. If not, they'll play Bavuma as 7th batsman. For Riley to play they'd need to drop a seamer and play Piedt. The 7-11 batting order is arbitrary - without Dr Phil they are equally useless as batsmen. With that squad their options are limited.

So, Vilas will keep for SA "A", and De Kock will bat in the middle order. What message is going out to De Kock?  "We see no future for you as keeper"??   "We see no future for you as opener"?  What is he there for ? Batting practice?

Only thing to take from the first tour game of the english is that its nice to see cook and hales fail twice. Can't say much about their bowling as the batting lineup they faced was woefull.

The Poms are hoping that Hales can be a Dave Warner type - not sure he is that good. Cook has been in pretty good form recently but can train off for long periods.

Good to see CSA giving the Poms ordinary warm ups

To lose your wicket to Junior Dala is careless. Twice is criminal.

the lad is an ordinary bowler?

Promoted beyond his ability imho. Played for my club and stayed at my house on occasion.

"It looks like he is trying to open up the off side every time he faces the ball. I just tried to keep it simple and tuck him up because he struggles on the leg side.
"In the first innings I was hoping I would bring one back, but I wasn't expecting him to leave it. Second innings was a bit back of a length, but the same plan, just tuck him up and he chopped it on.
"It's nice when a game plan comes together."

Dala on his hales wickets.
