Roger Federer will not be retiring at the end of next year after the Swiss signed up to play at the Stuttgart grass court tournament for the next two years.

Organisers announced their coup on Monday, claiming Federer had agreed to play in the tournament, which switched from clay to grass for the first time back in June, beyond next year.

Having been post-Wimbledon this year, the ATP Stuttgart Open will be played before the grass court Grand Slam in 2016.

"I watched the first (grass court) edition on television, it had a great atmosphere. I've always wanted to play Stuttgart, but it was always the wrong time after Wimbledon," said Federer.

"Now that they've moved dates, the chance to play the MercedesCup is very exciting -- I can't wait."

Goffin gives Belgium lead in final

David Goffin clawed his way back from a two-set deficit to defeat British newcomer Kyle Edmund 3-6, 1-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0 and give Belgium a 1-0 lead in the Davis Cup final in Ghent on Friday.

It brought his singles record in the competition to 12-2, his two previous losses both coming in five-setters after he had led by two sets to love. It was the first time in his career that he had won a match after losing the first two sets.

Watched this yesterday. After Murray won the commentator called him Britain's greatest ever athlete.

Dickhead. He is not even Britain's greatest tennis player.
