The Phil Hughes Inquiry appears to be a bit of a balls up.

Can't see the point of it. He got hit in the head and died. Now players wear better helmets. All the inquiry has done has created angst where none was needed. The Hughes family seem to be losing the plot but that is understandable.

Agreed, but the players are making it look like a cover up.

They are all under oath so they need to be careful. No one avoids jail in this country for perjury including judges of high level courts (see Marcus Einfeld).

Any threats to kill on the cricket field would be throwaway lines - I can't see what difference it would make if the threats were made

That's the point. If they all came out and said he was a scoring too fast, so we targeted him and threw in a couple of sledges, no one would have batted an eyelid.

Unless the family are planning a wrongful death suit none of it makes sense. Dragging up grade cricketers to submit written statements of hearsay has rightfully been disregarded.

The worry here is that some court make seek to outlaw short bowling on account of it being dangerous in a workplace - if that does happen cricket is doomed here

Can't see it. Thousands playing cricket every week and very few deaths. Family does seem out of line.

They are running the unsafe workplace line now - I hope CA don't rollover on this one
