If my memory serves me, AB last played Test cricket January 2016. Since then we've played 11 won 7 and lost 2.......against N/Zealand, Australia and Sri Lanka.....in other words we really DON"T need him.......the IPL does:110104_emM5_prv[1]:

Interesting. England will be a much stiffer Test than the three mentioned especially the pale Australian version that turned out then. I would want a fit and interested AB in all my teams.

Good luck to the Proteas - I hope they somehow conjure up a series win given the Ashes are coming up - we want the Poms turning up licking their wounds

Is the Ashes still on?

Whats your view on the players' strike?

Maybe.

I am a little conflicted on the matter - it is hard to be sympathetic towards cricketers who making up to $AUD5 million annually but are happy with the revenue sharing model provided the second tier players get a decent chunk. I suspect that they will extend the old deal for another 12 months hoping to find some common ground in the meantime

I am on the fence. It appears the revenue sharing was before any deductions which seems crazy.

Turning out to be more expensive by the minute.. 159 off 204 now.

I agree plus the revenue inclusions appear to include junior subs and the like. I am not sure why the players should be getting a piece of junior cricket revenue.

The cause is not helped by the likes of the inarticulate Dave Warner who leaves meetings in his ridiculously expensive car. Not saying he shouldn't drive a Lamborghini (or whatever it is) but like the US car executives who all flew their private jets to Washington to ask for bailout funds post GFC some discretion around these matters is helpful.

Straight forward catch if you ask me. It was flying but so do most catches in the gully.

The Poms batting is pretty thin apart from a few notable exceptions. Hard to see Ballance, Jennings and Bairstow having long and storied careers.

Big Vern looks like he has been doing some good work at the buffet in the off season. Doesn't seem to affect his bowling all the same but can't help but think the injury management could be easier with a few less kgs. Not everyone is a Kallis type who was bomb proof and never seemed to break down. That said there is no one fitter than Dale Steyn and he looks cooked sadly.

I thought the junior subs was one of the new inclusions they were looking for. Maybe if the big Bash hasn't lost so much we would not be having this discussion.

However IMHO if you are happy to share in the profits you must be prepared to share in the losses.

Gupta's don't have to capture Duminy. He isn't good enough to influence a match.

Weird that already 6 openers have been out for less than 40.
